Processing Technology of Corn Steep Liquor Powder (CSLP)

Organic Fertilizer Corn Steep Liquor Powder 42 is a by-product derived from the production of corn starch. It contains high levels of sulfurous compounds, peptides, polysaccharides, proteins, and various amino acids such as glutamic acid and histidine. CSLP is widely used in the production of water-soluble plant proteins and cellulose, fertilizer additives, fermentation nitrogen sources, and fiber-based animal feed. So, how is CSLP produced? Below is a summary of the processing technology:
  1. Soaking Process
    Corn kernels are soaked in sulfurous acid (an aqueous solution of sulfur dioxide) at a specific temperature and concentration for over 50 hours. After soaking, the corn kernels are removed, and the remaining liquid—without corn kernels—is referred to as Corn Steep Liquor.”

  2. Ultrafiltration
    The corn steep liquor is filtered using an ultrafiltration membrane, separating it into a permeate (small-molecule components that pass through the membrane) and a retentate (macromolecular components retained by the membrane).Corn Steep Liquor For Agriculture

  3. Lime Milk Reaction
    The permeate is then reacted with lime milk (calcium hydroxide solution), resulting in an upper clear liquid and a lower precipitate.   4. Drying Process
